Does your student need credits for graduation?  Before signing up for classes outside FUHS, your child needs to see their counselor for an Alternative Credit Permission Form that is only available from their counselor.  This ensures their credits meet graduation requirements.  Classes that are not pre-authorized will not be allowed for graduation credit.  Click here for more information.

INFORMATION AND RESOURCES AVAILABLE AT FALLBROOK HIGH SCHOOL:

Karen Schuetze of Educational Talent Search is here to help your students with college applications, transcript evaluation and financial aid.  She will be in the Career Center on Mondays and Wednesdays.

The Palomar Peers program is in the Career Center during lunch on the first and third Monday of each month to answer questions and provide information about Palomar CollegeHigh school students can take classes at Palomar College at no charge for units (books and health fees apply).  It's a great way to make up classes or fit other activities into their schedule.  They have information on guaranteed transfer programs, academic programs and financial aid available at Palomar.

Encourage your student to come in and take advantage of these programs!

Help your student keep a folder to keep track of volunteer work (hours and supervisor's names included), awards, extracurricular activities, sports, etc, beginning in 9th grade, and use this same folder to keep track of scholarship forms, passwords and log-ins for SAT, ACT, scholarship search engines, etc, and they'll have everything ready to start college and scholarship applications.  Almost all colleges and universities use online applications and most schools prefer them over paper ones.  It can be difficult to scramble for this information at the last minute, and some log-ins and passwords are not retrievable.
